Caney Valley Agape Network Volunteers, including Scout Troop 3, supply Back-to-School foods for USD 436 families
School has started—and the Bullpups are hungry!
In July and early August, more than forty-four dedicated volunteers from the Caney Valley Agape Network—joined by Scout Troop 3, a generous local donor, Caney Grocery, and the Kansas Food Bank—came together to support USD436 Bullpup families as the new school year began. Their collaboration made it possible to prepare and distribute 45-pound boxes filled with wholesome foods and all the ingredients needed to make easy-to-follow recipes that families could cook at home with their children.
Each box included fresh corn, squash, potatoes, and onions, frozen meats and breakfast foods, along with breads provided by the Indy Food Basket. Volunteers spent hours planning, shopping, and packing, ensuring every ingredient was thoughtfully chosen to help families start the school year with confidence. On one especially hot evening, Scout Troop 3 helped gather items, move boxes, and cheerfully loaded trunks and—turning hard work into something fun and memorable.
This effort was more than a distribution; it was a blessing shared across the community. Working side by side, volunteers made sure families were well prepared and children could begin school nourished, supported, and encouraged. Joy comes from serving together, and this collaboration truly reflected the heart of USD436.
