Laundry Love

Laundry Love Coffeyville provides free laundry services to low-income and no-income individuals and families, meeting a basic need while fostering connection and compassion. Through the simple act of washing clothes, we brighten lives with love, dignity, and detergent. As part of the national Laundry Love network, our local program is led by community volunteers and leaders dedicated to serving our neighbors with respect and care.

Holly House

Holly House in Coffeyville serves as a community resource for those facing life's challenges — from unexpected emergencies such as house fires or sudden relocations to simply navigating a tight family budget. In addition to weekly support, we also plan special seasonal events for back-to-school, the holidays, and spring, helping families feel supported year-round.

LHEAT Transport

Uses a token-based payment system distributed through participating community organizations. Each token covers one trip between point A and point B at no cost to the rider. The program operates on a pay-for-service model, meaning only completed rides are billed, keeping transportation efficient, flexible, and cost-effective.

LHEAT Social Media

Montgomery County LHEAT is strengthening its social media presence and developing a website to stay connected with the neighbors we serve. These updated platforms highlight LHEAT projects and member-organization projects, share our mission and vision, and make it easier for the community to learn about services, celebrate local efforts, and engage with one another.

Container Gardens

Historic smelting operations in the early 1900s left lead contamination in the soil of many communities within Montgomery County. In response, LHEAT — with leading support from the Kansas Farm Bureau's Leave No Kansan Hungry initiative — created the Container Gardens Project, providing families with soil, seeds, and raised-bed growing materials so everyone can grow fresh, safe produce at home.

INVESTING IN OUR COMMUNITY

MGC LHEAT periodically funds member organizations across the county, from window replacements at Independence Home Sweet Home and accessibility ramps at the Independence Community Access Center, to expanded internet access for Caney Valley Agape Network and a breast cancer support group connecting low-income women to free screenings. Different projects, one goal: making everyday life a little safer, more accessible, and healthier for our neighbors.
